Released globally in 1980, the 60 series Land Cruiser was shaped by growing popularity of SUVs. Drivers increasingly wanted a 4×4 that could take their whole family on a trip. Power comes from a 3.4L diesel 4 cylinder, rated at about 90hp and 160lb-ft torque. Power is sent to the rear, or four wheels, via 4 speed manual transmission and a 2 speed transfer case. Engine oil and filter changed, coolant flushed. Fluids replaced in the differentials, transfer case, and transmission, rear brakes, glow plugs, front sway bar links, coolant hose, and hood insulator replaced. Areas of body minor rust repaired, body repainted in blue, grille painted black. I am the third owner and have been restoring it. the second owner painted it blue and I added the retro stripes that a period correct!
